Vita Launch Titles

Gamespot has put together a summary of some of the Vita’s launch titles. There’s a couple of weak links in there, but they look quite interesting on the whole.

Skyrim: Investing in a Business

Building up your speech skill in Skyrim can be quite a good way to boost your wealth too. Not only can you start getting better prices for your stuff, you can also start investing in one of the businesses in Skyrim. Investing in a business allows them to carry much more cash, so you can [...]

Playstation Vita – Hands On

Ahead of the UK launch on the 22nd February, Vita demo units have started to roll out across @gamedigital stores in the UK. As a bit of a Vita fan I was eager to see one of these new machines in the flesh.

Console Rumour Mills

The rumour mill is in full swing, gearing up for the possible launch of a new generation of games consoles somewhere down the line. So far the rumours have been sounding like more of a wish list than a rumour, so it’s hard not to have a chuckle at them. For the 360 I’ve so [...]

SSX

Clips of the new SSX game are starting to come through thick & fast now that the launch is only a month or two away. It has been a long time since a good snowboarding game has come out – I think Amped 3 was the last one. SSX is looking quite exciting, to be [...]

Skyrim

Well, I honestly thought that by now I would have become bored of wandering around the diverse landscape Skyrim has to offer, yet I’m still playing it whenever I can. It is one of those games that draws you in, allows you to create and grow a character all of your own and live out [...]

Skyrim: Kvenel The Tongue

If you’ve come across this etherial looking dude on your travels around Skyrim you may be fooled into thinking he’s going to be a bit of a pushover, given his distinct lack of fleshy parts. However, you would be wise to avoid going toe-to-toe with Mr The Tongue.

All This Vita Doom-mongering

I’m starting to get a little tired of all the doom-mongering from the gaming press (particularly IGN) about the sales of the Playstation Vita. I think we need to get some perspective before we reach for the hammer & coffin nails. The Vita sold 321,407 in the first week. Given that MS has only sold [...]

Skyrim: Soljund’s Sinkhole

If you’ve stumbled upon this rich source of Moonstone whilst on your travels around the west of Skyrim, you may want to help the miners out and clear the area of draugr. However, I would like to warn you not to bother until you’ve reached around level 30.

Real Racing 2 HD – iPad

After playing a dozen-or-so Angry Birds clones on the App store, it is easy to be drawn into thinking that depth is a little hard to come by when gaming on your iPhone or iPad. If you dig around a little, there are some gems in there that offer slightly longer thrills and even some [...]

The Last of Us – PS3

Here’s a trailer for Naughty Dog’s new PS3 exclusive. It has a bit of an I Am Legend / Resident Evil feel to it. Still, it looks impressive.

Skryim: An Arrow In The Knee

It’s hard not to have a quiet chuckle when an internet meme is spawned from a game you are currently playing. I need no encouragement to talk about Skyrim so it seemed fitting that I explain what the whole “and then I took an arrow in the knee” came from.

Skyrim: Marriage

So, it is true, you can indeed get married in Skyrim, all you need is the Amulet of Mara. I think I have one of those. Now, this leaves me with a problem – if Lydia doesn’t want me I’m going to have to kick her out of my house in Whiterun and find someone [...]

Skyrim: Morokei

Well, Skyrim is going well. I’m starting to get into some meaty quests & some meaty caves too, but I came across a foe that had me rather stuck for a while. His name is Morokei and if you don’t want to know any more than that, stop reading now. If you do want to know more, chances are you are here because you got stuck and tried to google your way through it. Fortunately for you, I have the answer.

Infinity Blade 2 Visuals

Infinity Blade really was a landmark in terms of game graphics on iOS devices. Thankfully it was also an enjoyable game with a control system that suited the touch screen. Infinity Blade 2 is coming soon and looking to take advantage of the extra grunt available in the iPhone 4S and iPad 2. It’s looking [...]

Steam Autumn Sale

It’s sale time again on Steam. The annual Steam sales are an expensive nightmare for me usually, as there is just so much stuff to buy at great prices. The current deal includes Portal 2 for a mere £6.79. If you don’t already have it (you may be mad, who knows), now would be a [...]

Onlive – Maybe I Was Right to Doubt…

When Onlive first hit the UK, I forced myself to eat crow (metaphorically, of course) because after scoffing at the idea way back when it was first announced, it turned out to be a lot better than I expected. You can have a look at my initial impressions here, but my conclusion was as follows:

Max Payne 3 – Technology Demonstration

Rockstar Games are not one of those developers that likes to rest on its laurels, churn out any old crap and hope that it sells on the franchise reputation alone (Activision…). To push this point home, currently available on its YouTube channel is the first of a 5-part series demonstrating some of the engine wizardry [...]

Skyrim Tip – Getting to the Greybeards

This one had me puzzled for a while. The problem was not getting to the nearest village, Ivarstead, but getting up the mountain to the castle where the Greybeards are located. The first route I found landed me in some serious trouble with a bear that was far too strong for my low-ranked Redguard.
