PC & Mac gamers with iPhones or Androids will be pleased to hear that there is a Steam app on their respective app stores right now. However, the app is already attracting negative reviews from people who can’t read.
You see, the app is in beta and in order to use the app you need an invite from Valve. Installing the app and logging in sends a flag to Valve suggesting that you would like an invite. The app clearly tells you that this is what is happening, yet the reviews mount up.
When you do finally get access to the app, it provides you with the store and social features of the regular desktop version, but without your games, obviously. No, you can’t play Portal 2 on your phone, but that goes without saying.
Still, being able to chat to your Steam friends on the go sounds like a step in the right direction.
